In June 2017 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Schwarzer Haariger by Paloma Varga Weisz. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,658.68), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paloma Varga Weisz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 46,875.00 (€ 37,897.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2017 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Schwarzer Haariger von Paloma Varga Weisz zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.658,68) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Paloma Varga Weisz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für USD 46.875,00 (€ 37.897,16) versteigert wurde.
