Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Laughing-eyed Face (A.R. 608) by Pablo Picasso was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Christies in New York in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,856.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pablo Picasso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 179,365,000.00 (€ 163,148,080.77).
