Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Pilot Knob by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,757.62). This price was achieved in the auction The L.D. "Brink" Brinkman Collection Online at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in. in November last year with an auction result of USD 542,175.00 (€ 525,210.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pilot Knob von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus für USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.757,62) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The L.D. "Brink" Brinkman Collection Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in. im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 542.175,00 (€ 525.210,69).
