In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman, which included the work The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in. by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus. Here, the upper estimate of USD 500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 542,175.00 (€ 525,210.69). With this result, The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in. is even the most expensive work of art by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus that we have observed at auctions so far.
