Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Christies in New York held the auction The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection, which included the work Overland Mail by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus. The price achieved of USD 300,000.00 (€ 257,577.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in., which sold at auction in November last year for USD 542,175.00 (€ 525,210.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Overland Mail von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 300.000,00 (€ 257.577,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in. beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 542.175,00 (€ 525.210,69) versteigert wurde.
