Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sagebrush in December (The Rabbit Hunt, Taos Valley) by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus was sold in the Western Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2021. The price achieved of USD 40,312.50 (€ 33,335.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 35,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in. in November last year with an auction result of USD 542,175.00 (€ 525,210.69).

Die Arbeit Sagebrush in December (The Rabbit Hunt, Taos Valley) von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus wurde im Februar 2021 in der Auktion Western Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 40.312,50 (€ 33.335,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 35.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus erzielen.
