Die Arbeit Horses by Adobe Building, Moonlight von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus kam im November 2018 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 71.756,60) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in. im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 542.175,00 (€ 525.210,69).
