Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Cat by Omar El-Nagdi was worth GBP 69,850.00 (€ 81,293.37) to a buyer in June this year. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century to Now at Phillips in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Omar El-Nagdi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Grand Cavalier, which sold at auction in November this year for GBP 216,300.00 (€ 250,644.66).

Die Arbeit Cat von Omar El-Nagdi war einem Käufer im Juni diesen Jahres GBP 69.850,00 (€ 81.293,37) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th Century to Now bei Phillips in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Omar El-Nagdi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Grand Cavalier beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für GBP 216.300,00 (€ 250.644,66) versteigert wurde.
