Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Estructura - Objeto by Omar Carreño was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,283.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Omar Carreño achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 98,500.00 (€ 79,666.77).

Die Arbeit Estructura - Objeto von Omar Carreño kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.283,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Omar Carreño erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 98.500,00 (€ 79.666,77).
