Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Get You Off) by Olav Westphalen was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 688.00 (€ 640.54). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Olav Westphalen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Cartier" in May 2012 with an auction result of SEK 62,000.00 (€ 6,549.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Get You Off) von Olav Westphalen im März 2015 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 688,00 (€ 640,54) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Olav Westphalen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Cartier" im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 62.000,00 (€ 6.549,01).
