Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Showcase: Otaku Redux, which included the work Cosmic Girl by Okokume. The price achieved of HKD 20,160.00 (€ 2,235.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 15,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Okokume achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 70,768.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Otaku Redux durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cosmic Girl von Okokume zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 20.160,00 (€ 2.235,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 15.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Okokume erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 70.768,86).
