A top price for Okokume - as previously expected
In April this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Making Her Mark: 20th/21st Century Women Artists, which included the work The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) by Okokume. The price achieved of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 70,768.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) is the most expensive artwork by Okokume that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Making Her Mark: 20th/21st Century Women Artists durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) von Okokume zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 70.768,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Okokume, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
