In July last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th/21st Century Art Online, which included the work Dino by Okokume. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 113,400.00 (€ 14,149.99), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Okokume have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 70,768.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dino von Okokume zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 113.400,00 (€ 14.149,99) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Okokume auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 70.768,86).
