Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Cosmic Girl by Okokume was worth HKD 325,000.00 (€ 38,270.20) to a buyer in April 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art | Hong Kong at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Okokume; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) sold at auction in April this year with the realized price of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 70,768.86).

Die Arbeit Cosmic Girl von Okokume war einem Käufer im April 2020 HKD 325.000,00 (€ 38.270,20) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Okokume; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) im April diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 70.768,86).
