Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Cosmic Girl With Labubu Costume by Okokume was worth HKD 163,800.00 (€ 17,314.93) to a buyer in May 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Okokume have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 70,768.86).

Die Arbeit Cosmic Girl With Labubu Costume von Okokume war einem Käufer im Mai 2021 HKD 163.800,00 (€ 17.314,93) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Okokume auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 70.768,86).
