Upper estimate price exceeded by 64 %.
The work Bringing Hope by Okokume was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 32,760.00 (€ 3,462.99), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 64%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Okokume achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 70,768.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Bringing Hope von Okokume kam im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 32.760,00 (€ 3.462,99) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 64%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Okokume erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 70.768,86).
