Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Bringing Hope by Okokume was worth HKD 75,600.00 (€ 8,036.59) to a buyer in January 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art | Hong Kong at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Okokume have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 70,768.86).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit Bringing Hope von Okokume war einem Käufer im Januar 2021 HKD 75.600,00 (€ 8.036,59) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Okokume auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 70.768,86).
