The work Evening Rhapsody by Norman Lewis was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. It achieved a price of USD 1,714,000.00 (€ 1,405,609.32), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 71%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Norman Lewis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ritual sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of USD 2,780,000.00 (€ 2,522,914.97).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Norman Lewis; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ritual im November 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 2.780.000,00 (€ 2.522.914,97).
