Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included this untitled work by Norman Bluhm. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,287.50 (€ 7,322.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Bluhm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chicago 1920 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,138,600.00 (€ 731,748.07).
