Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Blake - Vincent's Letters, Jars of Pigment - Chrysanthemums by Norman Adams. It changed hands for a price of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,181.35) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Norman Adams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Oliviers in the Weed Field; Forest, Ardéche; Yorkshire Study; Cherry Orchard, Ardéche; Trees at Douk Ghyll; South France; and Bright Light on the Sea, Hebridean Study, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,648.82).
