In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Mimetic Gestures by Njideka Akunyili Crosby. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,932,500.00 (€ 1,655,955.44), 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Njideka Akunyili Crosby - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Beautyful Ones, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 4,740,000.00 (€ 4,591,688.46).

Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mimetic Gestures von Njideka Akunyili Crosby zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.932.500,00 (€ 1.655.955,44) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Njideka Akunyili Crosby mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Beautyful Ones beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 4.740.000,00 (€ 4.591.688,46) versteigert wurde.
