Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporaries: Voices from East and West / Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work Tea Time in New Haven, Enugu by Njideka Akunyili Crosby. The price achieved of HKD 7,020,000.00 (€ 801,589.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 6,200,000.00 – 9,400,000.00. Admittedly, works by Njideka Akunyili Crosby have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Beautyful Ones in November last year with an auction result of USD 4,740,000.00 (€ 4,591,688.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporaries: Voices from East and West / Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tea Time in New Haven, Enugu von Njideka Akunyili Crosby zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 7.020.000,00 (€ 801.589,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 6.200.000,00 – 9.400.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Njideka Akunyili Crosby auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Beautyful Ones im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.740.000,00 (€ 4.591.688,46).
