Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Layers (Paris 1) & Layers (Madrid 1) (Two Works) by Nikki S. Lee was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 415.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nikki S. Lee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected Images, 1998-1999 in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 19,200.00 (€ 15,209.13).
