This artwork by Nikhil Biswas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Untitled (River Bank) sold for USD 4,788.00 (€ 4,403.97) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nikhil Biswas; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Two Untitled Works sold at auction in March 2012 with the realized price of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,687.27).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nikhil Biswas erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Untitled (River Bank) für USD 4.788,00 (€ 4.403,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Nikhil Biswas; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Two Untitled Works im März 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.687,27).
