This artwork by Nicolas de Staël achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in November 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Nature Morte sold for USD 150,312.50 (€ 133,173.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas de Staël achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Parc des Princes (Les grands footballeurs) in October 2019 with an auction result of EUR 20,000,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nicolas de Staël erzielte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Nature Morte für USD 150.312,50 (€ 133.173,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolas de Staël erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Parc des Princes (Les grands footballeurs) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.000.000,00.
