This artwork by Nicola Tyson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Fan Head Figure sold for USD 37,800.00 (€ 36,617.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nicola Tyson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Figure and Ploughed Field sold at auction in December 2021 with the realized price of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 42,081.64).
