Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Soundsuit by Nick Cave was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Christies in London in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 7,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 75,020.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nick Cave - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Soundsuit, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 189,000.00 (€ 154,994.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Soundsuit von Nick Cave wurde im Juni 2016 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 7.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 75.020,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Nick Cave mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Soundsuit beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für USD 189.000,00 (€ 154.994,26) versteigert wurde.
