Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ten Dollar Bill with Red Treasury Seal by Nicholas Alden Brooks was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,833.85). Admittedly, works by Nicholas Alden Brooks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Vase And Books in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 57,600.00 (€ 44,884.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ten Dollar Bill with Red Treasury Seal von Nicholas Alden Brooks im September 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.833,85) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicholas Alden Brooks auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Vase And Books im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 57.600,00 (€ 44.884,28).
