Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Five Dollar Bill, Program and Ticket Stubs from Ford's Theatre by Nicholas Alden Brooks. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,000.00 (€ 12,654.22). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicholas Alden Brooks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Vase And Books, which sold at auction in May 2006 for USD 57,600.00 (€ 44,884.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Five Dollar Bill, Program and Ticket Stubs from Ford's Theatre von Nicholas Alden Brooks zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.000,00 (€ 12.654,22) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Alden Brooks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life With Vase And Books beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für USD 57.600,00 (€ 44.884,28) versteigert wurde.
