Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Year of the Goat by Nguyen Tu Nghiem was sold in the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art Online auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 17,212.50 (€ 1,914.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nguyen Tu Nghiem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Souvenir du passé (Souvenir of The Past) in May last year with an auction result of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 82,273.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Year of the Goat von Nguyen Tu Nghiem wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art Online bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 17.212,50 (€ 1.914,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nguyen Tu Nghiem erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Souvenir du passé (Souvenir of The Past) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 82.273,97).
