Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled by Natvar Bhavsar was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,152.48). Admittedly, works by Natvar Bhavsar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sangam Iii in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 116,376.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled von Natvar Bhavsar im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.152,48) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Natvar Bhavsar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sangam Iii im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 116.376,50).
