Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work The Baroque by Natee Utarit was worth HKD 3,024,000.00 (€ 328,484.81) to a buyer in June 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Evening Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Natee Utarit; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot GOD sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of HKD 4,032,000.00 (€ 478,684.93).
