Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Interior with Two Figures by Moses Soyer was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,142.00 (€ 1,930.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Moses Soyer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Costume Makers in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 40,625.00 (€ 31,600.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Interior with Two Figures von Moses Soyer im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.142,00 (€ 1.930,95) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Moses Soyer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Costume Makers im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.625,00 (€ 31.600,03).
