This artwork by Mortimer Luddington Menpes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March 2021. In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Japanese children by firelight sold for GBP 9,562.50 (€ 11,233.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mortimer Luddington Menpes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Benares, Blue Is The Sky, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,189.42).

Für andere Arbeiten von Mortimer Luddington Menpes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Benares, Blue Is The Sky beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.189,42) versteigert wurde.
