Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Britishchildren At Play And Children Before A Street Stall: A Pair by Mortimer Luddington Menpes for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,409.74). This price was achieved in the auction The Orientalist Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mortimer Luddington Menpes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Benares, Blue Is The Sky in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,189.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Britishchildren At Play And Children Before A Street Stall: A Pair von Mortimer Luddington Menpes für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.409,74) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mortimer Luddington Menpes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Benares, Blue Is The Sky im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.189,42).
