Auction result misses estimated price range
In June last year a collector was able to acquire the work A Quetta market stall by Mortimer Luddington Menpes for GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,443.56). This price was achieved in the auction Orientalist Art at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mortimer Luddington Menpes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Benares, Blue Is The Sky in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,189.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Quetta market stall von Mortimer Luddington Menpes für GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.443,56) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Orientalist Art bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mortimer Luddington Menpes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Benares, Blue Is The Sky im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.189,42).
