Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Samurai Sword by Morris Graves was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The price achieved of USD 6,930.00 (€ 5,998.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Morris Graves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bird Singing in the Moonlight in November 2003 with an auction result of USD 141,900.00 (€ 118,299.29).
