Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Winter Still Life #1, 1983 by Morris Graves was sold in the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 48,255.00 (€ 45,795.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Morris Graves - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bird Singing in the Moonlight, which sold at auction in November 2003 for USD 141,900.00 (€ 118,299.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Winter Still Life #1, 1983 von Morris Graves wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 48.255,00 (€ 45.795,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Morris Graves mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bird Singing in the Moonlight beobachtet, die im November 2003 für USD 141.900,00 (€ 118.299,29) versteigert wurde.
