Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Bumblebee Rhododendron 25 x 20 in. (63.5 x 50.8 cm) framed 31 1/4 x 26 1/8 x 2 in. by Morris Graves was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 15,360.00 (€ 14,081.41). Admittedly, works by Morris Graves have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bird Singing in the Moonlight in November 2003 with an auction result of USD 141,900.00 (€ 118,299.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Bumblebee Rhododendron 25 x 20 in. (63.5 x 50.8 cm) framed 31 1/4 x 26 1/8 x 2 in. von Morris Graves kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 15.360,00 (€ 14.081,41) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Morris Graves auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bird Singing in the Moonlight im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 141.900,00 (€ 118.299,29).
