In November 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Flower Hunting in Rousseau's Forest by Mitsuru Watanabe. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 200,000.00 (€ 19,830.90), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mitsuru Watanabe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Naoko Bathing in the Woods of Rousseau in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 79,462.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flower Hunting in Rousseau's Forest von Mitsuru Watanabe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 19.830,90) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mitsuru Watanabe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Naoko Bathing in the Woods of Rousseau im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 79.462,28).
