Auction result misses estimated price range
In April last year a collector was able to acquire the work 'Lai Châu Government Guest House' (Vietnam) by Mitch Epstein for USD 630.00 (€ 597.89). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mitch Epstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Amos Coal Power Plant, West Virginia from American Power in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,993.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit 'Lai Châu Government Guest House' (Vietnam) von Mitch Epstein für USD 630,00 (€ 597,89) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mitch Epstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Amos Coal Power Plant, West Virginia from American Power im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.993,55).
