Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Still Life With Flowers, Fruits And Lobster by Michiel Simons was sold in the Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2017. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 31,250.00 (€ 35,167.30). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michiel Simons - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, carnations and other flowers in a vase, grapes and peaches in a porcelain bowl, with glasses of wine, a peeled lemon on a dish and other fruit on a partially draped stone ledge, which sold at auction in January 2001 for USD 116,000.00 (€ 124,623.98).
