In May 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work A rose, a pomegranate, a glass flute, grapes, a partly peeled lemon on a silver plate, a roemer, a lobster, peaches, a pheasant and other birds on a partly-draped table by Michiel Simons. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 26,290.00 64% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Michiel Simons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tulips, carnations and other flowers in a vase, grapes and peaches in a porcelain bowl, with glasses of wine, a peeled lemon on a dish and other fruit on a partially draped stone ledge in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 116,000.00 (€ 124,623.98).

Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A rose, a pomegranate, a glass flute, grapes, a partly peeled lemon on a silver plate, a roemer, a lobster, peaches, a pheasant and other birds on a partly-draped table von Michiel Simons zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 26.290,00 und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michiel Simons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tulips, carnations and other flowers in a vase, grapes and peaches in a porcelain bowl, with glasses of wine, a peeled lemon on a dish and other fruit on a partially draped stone ledge im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 116.000,00 (€ 124.623,98).
