In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A tulip, a carnation, an iris and other flowers in a glass vase, wild strawberries in a Wan-li 'kraak' porselain bowl, a partly-peeled lemon on a pewter platter with cherries, an orange, a wine glass, apples and grapes on a draped ledge by Michiel Simons. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 84,000.00 (€ 121,921.30), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michiel Simons; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Tulips, carnations and other flowers in a vase, grapes and peaches in a porcelain bowl, with glasses of wine, a peeled lemon on a dish and other fruit on a partially draped stone ledge sold at auction in January 2001 with the realized price of USD 116,000.00 (€ 124,623.98).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 121.921,30) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
