It achieved a price of EUR 31,000.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 72 %. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michiel van Mierevelt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Jan van der Haer (1609-1665), half-length, in a black silk doublet with cutwork, edged with black lace; and Portrait of Levina Ockers (1607-1678), half-length, in a black dress with a double layered lace-trimmed ruff and jewelled collar, which sold at auction in May 2014 for EUR 79,500.00.

Die Arbeit Portrait of Agatha de Vlaming van Oudtshoorn (1619-1675), half-length, in an embroidered black dress with red and silver silk decorations, with a white lace collar and cuffs, a pearl necklace and a jewelled tiara von Michiel van Mierevelt kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 31.000,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 72 %. Für andere Arbeiten von Michiel van Mierevelt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Jan van der Haer (1609-1665), half-length, in a black silk doublet with cutwork, edged with black lace; and Portrait of Levina Ockers (1607-1678), half-length, in a black dress with a double layered lace-trimmed ruff and jewelled collar beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für EUR 79.500,00 versteigert wurde.
