The work Portrait of a lady, identified as Maria Mollen (1555-1621), three-quarter-length, in a black fur-trimmed gown, seated at a table with a book by Michiel van Mierevelt was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2018. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,818.30) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Michiel van Mierevelt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Jan van der Haer (1609-1665), half-length, in a black silk doublet with cutwork, edged with black lace; and Portrait of Levina Ockers (1607-1678), half-length, in a black dress with a double layered lace-trimmed ruff and jewelled collar in May 2014 with an auction result of EUR 79,500.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, identified as Maria Mollen (1555-1621), three-quarter-length, in a black fur-trimmed gown, seated at a table with a book von Michiel van Mierevelt kam im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.818,30) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michiel van Mierevelt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Jan van der Haer (1609-1665), half-length, in a black silk doublet with cutwork, edged with black lace; and Portrait of Levina Ockers (1607-1678), half-length, in a black dress with a double layered lace-trimmed ruff and jewelled collar im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 79.500,00.
