The result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 59,094.15) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Other works by Michiel van Mierevelt have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2014 the work Portrait of Jan van der Haer (1609-1665), half-length, in a black silk doublet with cutwork, edged with black lace; and Portrait of Levina Ockers (1607-1678), half-length, in a black dress with a double layered lace-trimmed ruff and jewelled collar was auctioned for EUR 79,500.00.
