Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures and Prints, which included the work Hanging Songbirds; And Another Similar by Michelangelo Meucci. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 600.00 (€ 875.80), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Michelangelo Meucci have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 5,975.00 (€ 5,481.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hanging Songbirds; And Another Similar von Michelangelo Meucci zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 600,00 (€ 875,80) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michelangelo Meucci auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.975,00 (€ 5.481,65).
