Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art, which included the work Guarding the nest by Michelangelo Meucci. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,588.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michelangelo Meucci - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 5,975.00 (€ 5,481.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Guarding the nest von Michelangelo Meucci zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.588,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Michelangelo Meucci mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 5.975,00 (€ 5.481,65) versteigert wurde.
