Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art, which included the work A trompe l'oeil with two songbirds hanging from a nail by Michelangelo Meucci. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,407.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michelangelo Meucci - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 5,975.00 (€ 5,481.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A trompe l'oeil with two songbirds hanging from a nail von Michelangelo Meucci zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.407,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Michelangelo Meucci mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 5.975,00 (€ 5.481,65) versteigert wurde.
